Macedonians and the 4th C. BC
Macedonians and the 4th C. BC
The Macedonians were an ancient tribe from Greece who were in possession of an empire and a handful of other disciplines necessary for the immediate needs and sustenance of it. The ancient Macedonians regarded the Greeks as potentially dangerous citizens. This tribe has been seen as being barbaric and treated them in the same bigoted manner in which they treated all non-Greeks. The affect Alexander the Great had on Greece and the rest of the Mediterranean world was adopting customs while introducing his own to many cultures. He also introduced many Greek ideas and customs forming what is now called the ‘Hellenistic age’.
The fourth century also consisted of the death of Alexander; a pivotal moment which began the Hellenistic age. This art form was considered to be a decadent style from the classical period.
